A simple invention can change history. A’RCOPEDICO was founded in 1966 by Professor Elio Parodi, revolutionizing the market with a simple yet pioneering product: a shoe that combined comfort, technology, and foot care.

Elio & Maria Lourdes Parodi
Our story began in 1966 when Elio Parodi, after attending the World Congress of Podiatry in Örebro (Sweden), designed a shoe with a sole featuring a twin arch system. Months of research followed, all to reinforce a conviction: the arch of the foot is the central support of the spine. It was the patent for an orthopedic insole with proper arch support that launched A’RCOPEDICO.
Leading the sales team was Maria de Lourdes Parodi, co-founder. The first models to hit the market were characterized by this sole and an upper made of knitted techno elastic mesh, with volumetric control, allowing for proper blood circulation.
All of our shoes, from the very first pair to today’s models, reflect our founders’ vision. They combine pioneering technology, years of expertise, and the goal of providing the best comfort, always!

Over the past 60 years, we have manufactured more than 20,000 different models, including classics such as New Sec, Leina (now Itatiaia) or L14 (now Cabrera).

Around the world
In 1985, ROPAR decided to take a risk and launch new models. These served as a catalyst for cross border sales and marked the beginning of the internationalization strategy that took A’RCOPEDICO to the four corners of the globe. The company’s international presence is established through distributors or by making its footwear available in retail stores.
